Scott's AST (Air Swept Tubular) Dryer can dry materials ranging from 98% liquid slurries to fine powders. The unit provides agitation that mixes hot air with the wet product entering the dryer inlet, breaking up lumps and reducing the drying time. The dryer can reduce a slurry's moisture content from 95% to 1% in a single pass. The unit's adjustable paddles and air dams facilitate changing retention times and allowing for variations in the drying process.
The drying process is a function of time, heat and mass transfer coefficients and differential temperature. The function of the Scott AST Dryer is to provide the right combination of these variables to achieve the desired results.
